History Timeline

2016 : The Beginning

Assaad started training calisthenics with a couple of people, aiming to get back in shape after a two-year hiatus from sports. This marked the humble beginnings of what would eventually become the ZeroGravity calisthenics team.

2017 : Strength and Study

As Assaad developed his strength, he also delved deeper into the intricacies of calisthenics, focusing on perfecting form and execution. This year was pivotal in laying the foundation for future growth.

2018 : A New Phase

The original group of trainees split, but Assaad continued his journey with a few friends. Members of the Goup Climbing Club including Ali Ahmed, Hamza Habli, Mahmoud Hachicho began joining the training sessions, and the group grew to about nine people. This year solidified the core of the ZeroGravity team.

2019 : Expanding Horizons

Calisthenics started gaining popularity in the South. Assaad and his team proposed installing bars near the national stadium in Saida. By October, the installation was successful, creating Saida's first mini calisthenics park. With 13 members, the team outgrew their training spot and rented a place to start official classes in October 2019.

2019 : November - Rapid Growth

The first class quickly filled up, prompting the launch of a second class, which also filled in less than three days. A third class was opened, attracting even more people. During that time, Basma Basma and Ali El Zein started training with the team and later on Mohammed Bayyari joined the team. However, the momentum was interrupted by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

2020 : January - Official Formation

The ZeroGravity logo was developed, and the official formation of the team was announced after years of informal training.

2020 : February - Adapting to Challenges

With the outbreak of COVID-19, in-person classes were halted, but the team adapted by sending training routines online to keep the community engaged.

2020 : June - A New Home

The team moved into a new location in Saida, continuing their journey and expanding their membership. Despite the challenges, ZeroGravity emerged stronger and more united.

2020 : August - Planting the Seeds

Two more classes were added and tenths of enthusiasts started joining our classes. Tala Qawwam joined us that month, and later on became a member of the coaching team.
